Reconsideration of Value

Submit a formal ROV request on a completed Marketwise appraisal. Our review team responds within two business days with next steps.

Per Dodd-Frank and investor guidelines, a Reconsideration of Value must include market-supported evidence — typically 3–5 closed comparable sales not previously considered. Requests without supporting data may be returned.

Appraisal Rebuttal Form

Please use the form below to submit your reconsideration of value (ROV). Marketwise will review and process this form in accordance with our policies and procedures related to value reconsiderations.

Upon receipt, we will process the ROV within one to two business days and send all applicable and relevant information to the appraiser to review. The appraiser will typically respond within two to four business days.

In order to ensure the most accurate outcome for all parties, please review the following ROV requirements and confirm that the reconsideration meets these basic guidelines. Once your request is completed and reviewed, you will be contacted by Marketwise Valuation Services with the appraiser's response. Only one ROV is permitted. If you have any questions, please contact Marketwise Valuation Services as soon as possible.

ROV Guidelines

Marketwise Valuation Services will consider the ROV when there are factual errors, methodology errors, or relevant sales that were excluded.Each sale must be settled and closed prior to the Effective Date of the appraisal and the corresponding date available for review.Do not provide sales that are already included in the report.Do not present sales or challenges based on price-per-square-foot methodology.Do not use active or pending listings or sales that have closed after the effective date of the appraisal.Avoid using dissimilar sales (i.e., location, condition, utility, etc.).The language in the ROV cannot lead the appraiser to a value conclusion. Do not ask for a specific value to support a purchase price or loan amount. The appeal should focus on facts rather than someone's opinion.If the ROV does not include appropriate support or is not in compliance with the AIR and/or all applicable Interagency Guidelines, it will be returned to you.This is a request to the appraiser (not Marketwise Valuation Services) to make factual corrections, reconsider alternate sales, and/or provide additional support for their conclusions. The appraiser has complete independence from all parties involved. When the appraiser responds to the reconsideration, Marketwise Valuation Services will audit the report to ensure everything complies with industry standards.
